What do we need?

Awaed is seeking a QA Tech Lead to serve as the ultimate technical authority for our Quality Engineering department. Unlike a traditional people manager, this role is for a "Super Senior" individual contributor and mentor who possesses deep-rooted technical fundamentals and a passion for architecting quality into the SDLC. You will be responsible for the technical direction of the QA team, elevating their engineering capabilities, and ensuring our automation infrastructure

is world-class.

What will you do?

Technical Leadership & Capability Building

1. Serve as the primary technical mentor for the QA team, providing deep-dive guidance on automation code reviews and architectural decisions.

2. Identify technical skill gaps within the team and design training initiatives to elevate their engineering capabilities.

3. Establish and enforce high-quality coding standards for all automated test scripts.

Quality Engineering & Automation Strategy

1. Architect and implement the organization’s overall test automation strategy, focusing on long-term scalability and maximum coverage.

2. Lead the development of sophisticated automated test scripts that integrate seamlessly into the CI/CD pipeline.

3. Design and maintain a robust test infrastructure, including automated environment provisioning and test data management strategies.

Advanced Test Planning & Execution.

1. Develop comprehensive, technically sound test plans for complex systems, including functional, regression, and performance testing.

2. Perform thorough risk assessments to identify potential architectural weaknesses and quality bottlenecks early in the SDLC.

3. Oversee the end-to-end defect lifecycle, focusing on trend analysis to implement preventative engineering measures.

Cross-Functional Engineering Collaboration

1. Collaborate with Development and DevOps leads to align quality goals with system architecture and deployment strategies.

2. Define and track advanced quality metrics that provide actionable insights into the technical health of the product.

3. Drive continuous improvement by staying at the forefront of emerging technologies and quality assurance methodologies.

What are we looking for?

• Minimum of 8+ years of hardcore experience in software quality assurance within complex development environments.

• Mastery of testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

• Extensive experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch using tools like Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, or TestNG.

• Hands-on expertise in API testing, performance testing, and security testing.

• Tooling & Infrastructure:

  1. Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.

  2. Experience with cloud-based testing platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  3. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby) and test management tools like Jira or TestRail.

Nice to have:

• Experience in fintech, trading platforms, or high-frequency systems.

• Knowledge of low-latency system optimization.

• Strategic Influence: Ability to advocate for "Quality at Source" and influence development architecture to ensure testability.

• Analytical Rigor: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach to defect prevention and risk mitigation.
